Two found murdered
Two persons were found murdered in separate incidents in the city on Monday. In the first incident, 30-year-old Kusum was found strangled in a jhuggi at Shalimar Bagh. The police suspect that her husband Ram Ashray 8212; who is absconding 8212; killed her. Kusum had been married for 10 years. She is survived by two children. In the second incident, a Seemapuri resident, Bhanu, was allegedly stabbed to death by his brother Devraj following an altercation. The police say that Devraj had given some money to his brother for sending it to their parents in their native village. But when he found out that Bhanu had spent the money on himself, he had an altercation with him on Monday night which resulted in the stabbing. The police are looking for Devraj.

Four killed in accident
Four persons were killed and eight injured when a matador overturned on the Bullandshahr-Meerut road in the Hafizpur area of Ghaziabad district at 6.40 a.m. today. The Tata matador was on its way to Gulaoti to Hapur when the accident occurred. The dead have been identified as Virender Kumar, Mohammad Yussuf, Surinder Pal and Changa Ram. They were killed on the spot. While the first three were from Gulaoti, Changa Ram hailed from Ghaziabad. The injured have been admitted to a local hospital. The Ghaziabad police have registered a case.

Three arrested for robbery
The Delhi Cantonment police have arrested three persons who reportedly robbed one Masood Ali of his Tata 407 and Rs 40,000 on June 18. The robbers reportedly worked for a finance company. Uttam Singh, Viresh Kumar, Saman Singh and Pradeep Kumar allegedly intercepted Masood Ali8217;s tempo at the Parade Road crossing near Subroto Park while he was coming from Sarai Rohilla and assaulted him before fleeing with the vehicle and money. Police say the three were working for the Interstate Finance Company, which had offices in Bikaji Cama Place. They would forcibly take possession of vehicles whose owners had financed their vehicles through this company, but failed to pay their dues, police say.

The tempo was taken to the Nasir Pur godown of the Interstate Finance Company. The Delhi Cantt police registered a case and recovered the car from the Palam area after arresting the three accused. The involvement of the finance company in the robbery is being investigated.

Shopkeeper held for rape
A shopkeeper at Mansaram Park in Janakpuri has been arrested on the charge of raping a five-year-old girl on Monday evening. The girl was reportedly sent by her mother to buy bread when she was called inside by the shopkeeper and raped. The incident was reported to the police after the girl8217;s mother realised that her daughter had been raped. Further investigations are on.

6 alleged dacoits apprehended
A police team has apprehended six alleged dacoits from the Wazirpur industrial area and recovered two .315 bore kattas and three knives from them. The six persons 8212; Suresh, Istiaq, Phool Chand, Shamshad, Manoj and Shahid 8212; have reportedly confessed to their involvement in a dacoity in which Rs 2,50,000 was stolen from a scrap dealer in the Wazirpur industrial area.
