Draft stolen, encashed
An Executive Engineer of the Ranjit Sagar Dam in the Punjab Irrigation Department, R.L. Mehta, reported that somebody stole a bank draft for Rs 2,.27,000 in the name of Kuldip Singh, a draftsman, and encashed the amount by opening a false bank account in Rajpura8217;s Bank of India. A case has been registered.

Murder bid: 1 held
The city police have arrested Karam Singh of Hallomajra village after he allegedly threw a burning lamp on one Charanjit Singh of the same village. Karam Singh was arrested for alleged attempt to murder.
