Burail village resident Kapil was caught red-handed while he was allegedly stealing aluminum rods from a house in the village. The police are investigating the matter.

Accident
S.A.S. Nagar resident Gurdeep Kaur was injured when her scooter was reportedly hit by a Maruti car driven by Bhupinder Singh of sector 47. The accident took place at the barrier of sectors 45 and 46.

Purse snatchers
Two persons allegedly snatched some money from Babu Lal Yadav and Rajesh Kumar. The police have arrested one of the accused, Raju Thapa.

Pickpocket held
The city police arrested Narottam Bhatia alias Rocky of Sector 7 while he was trying to pick a pocket of a Rohtak resident in a bus.

Duo assaulted
Khudda Lahora resident Vijay Kumar and his neighbour Rajinder Kumar were allegedly assaulted and threatened by a few persons including Shamim Mohammad and Monu at their residence. The police have registered a case.

Car stolen
Sector 28 resident Sandeep Singh Thind reported that his Maruti car CH-01-E-313 has been stolen from the parking of sector 17. A case has been registered.

In the fifth arrest in connection with singer Zubeen Garg’s death, his cousin and Assam Police Service officer Sandipan Garg, who had accompanied him on the trip to Singapore, was arrested by the Assam police on Wednesday. Sandipan Garg, who is Deputy SP (Law and Order) at Kamrup with the Assam police, was arrested when he reported to the CID office in Guwahati.
