Boy dies after cycle rickshaw overturns
A 10-Year-old boy, Mohit, died, while a passerby rescued three other children when their cycle rickshaw overturned and fell into a nullah in the Budh Vihar area near Mongolpuri on Thursday morning. Rajkumar, Sunder Singh, Manoj and Mohit 8211; all residents of Budh Vihar, were on a joy-ride in the rickshaw when it fell into the nullah. The eldest of the four Rajkumar, 18, was driving the rickshaw. Mohit was declared dead at Sanjay Gandhi hospital. The police received the information at 10.20 a.m.
Four dacoits arrested, arms recovered
The Alipur police arrested four dacoits while they were planning a dacoity in the Jindpur area. Rahi 25, Anis 19, Lala Bahadur 28 and Subhash Alam were nabbed from a secluded spot on Wednesday, though their three accomplices managed to escape. A single-barrel gun with two cartridges and a 12-bore karra was recovered from them. The police said the men had earlier committed a theft in a factory in Dabri area and decamped with three tons of lead and a single barrel gun.
Man killed in South Delhi accident
The S.N.Puri police have arrested a truck driver for killing a scooterist, Harish Gublani, and injuring two women. Gublani, 48, of Sant Nagar died when his scooter was hit by a speeding truck near the Ashram Chowk on Wednesday night. The driver, Lalit Mandal from West Bengal, has been arrested for causing death due to rash and negligent driving. Harish died in Apollo hospital whereas the two women who were travelling with him have sustained severe injuries.
Director of publishing company held
The Crime Branch of the Delhi Police have arrested director of a publishing concern Kuldeep Jain under the Copyright Act for publishing Hindi books translated in Urdu without the permission of the author. The police acted on a complaint received by Sadhvi Phool Kumari that M/s B. Jain Publishers Private Limited at 1921/10, Chuna Mandi in Paharganj had translated in Urdu and published her books entitled Ayurvedic Chikista and Phool Chikitsa. She said they had distorted her name to Phool Kumar, whereas the title of the book was changed to Aasan Gharelu Ilaaz.
The police recovered 995 infringed books printed in Urdu. Their negatives have also been recovered. Jain 45, who entered into an agreement with Sadhvi Phool Kumari, has been arrested. Sadhvi Phool Kumari is an M.A. in philosophy and literature and specialised in avdhankatri, astrology, ashu-kavitri, lekhika.
Businessman looted
A businessman was looted by three unidentified armed miscreants in the Bahadurgarh area of Ghaziabad on Thursday afternoon.
According to the police, Hari Shankar Singh8217;s vehicle was intercepted by men armed with country-made pistols while he on the way back to his house in the town at around 1.20 p.m. They snatched his bag containing Rs 27,000 and a gold ring.
Body found
An unidentified body of 30-year-old male was found in a DDA park at Ghazi Pur on Thursday morning.
According to the police, the body was lying among bushes and had strangulation marks on the neck. A case of murder has been registered at the Kalyan Puri Police Station and the case is being investigated.
