Sachin Tendulkar is perhaps more familiar with tennis elbow than tennis, but today, in the city for a promotional event of the Sunfeast WTA meet, he steered clear of all 8220;cricketing issues.8221;

And with the moderator at the press conference trying his level best to fend off queries regarding 8220;the taboo subject8221; of the day, Tendulkar did not open his mouth on the issue of the India captaincy. 8220;Will he send his best wishes to the one who does become India captain?8221;8212;even an innocuous query like that had the moderator step in with inane defensive tactics while Tendulkar looked on incredulously.

With the Sunfeast Kolkata Open being in limelight, Tendulkar took part in launching a product of the title sponsors and then making an impression8212;literally. His palm imprints were taken to be displayed later at the Avenue of Stars at the Millennium Park.

About the ongoing Twenty20 World cup, he said that he was enjoying it.

8220;Its fantastic watching it. The team is doing well though in the last game we did not get the result we wanted. But the tournament is still wide open.8221;

Asked what role the senior players played in England in the absence of a coach, he said: 8220;Whether there is a coach or not, I always go up to the players and tell them if I have anything to say. 8220;Similarly, I tell even the youngest player in the team to come and tell me if I am going wrong somewhere. It builds up a good team.8221;

Tendulkar said one had to deal with pressures while representing India, whether he was just a player or leading the team. Asked whether injury management has improved in Indian sport, he said: 8220;Injuries will happen. Its very important to have good rehabilitation. An injury today does not mean an end to one8217;s career.8221;

The master blaster was all praise for Sania Mirza, saying that it was great to see India come up with such sportspersons. 8220;I used to follow Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi. Now it8217;s Sania. It8217;s all about keeping the Tricolour flying.8221;
