MUMBAI, June 12: Peak hour Central Railway traffic was severely disrupted this morning when a railway crane wagon slipped from its route onto the adjoining up and down lines, killing one crane fireman Kashinath (56). The accident took place near Mulund station at 4.50 am, when the train was on its way to Kurla station after a routine maintenance run.

Over 45 locals were cancelled following the derailment, and trains ran almost an hour late before normalcy was restored at 12.30 pm. The first track was cleared at 7 am and the other two tracks by 8.45 am, a CR spokesperson informed. Two long distance trains were also delayed by over four hours.
