The Gujarat High Court on Friday issued a notification designating four lawyers as senior advocates under provisions of the Advocates Act, 1961, and the High Court of Gujarat (Designation of Senior Advocates) Rules, 2025.

The counsels designated as senior advocates include Amar Niranjan Bhatt, Apurva Sharad Vakil, Megha Bhupendra Jani and Mitul Kirit Shelat.

A notification to the effect was issued by the Registrar General of the Gujarat High Court on Friday, referring to the “unanimous” resolution of the full court meeting held on January 8.

The January 9 High Court notification, signed by Registrar General S D Suthar, states, “In exercise of powers conferred by Section 16(2) of the Advocates Act, 1961 read with the High Court of Gujarat (Designation of Senior Advocates) Rules, 2025, the Honorable Chief Justice and Honorable Judges of the High Court of Gujarat in the Full Court Meeting held on January 8, 2026, have unanimously resolved to designate the following advocates as Senior Advocates from the date of this resolution.”
