A Bihar traffic police assistant sub-inspector deployed on the Chief Minister8217;s route allegedly beat up the son of state minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey and also misbehaved with his daughter-in-law here on Sunday.

The incident took place at around 4.30 pm in front of a shopping mall on Fraser Road when the minister8217;s son Aviral Choubey, 30, and his wife Surabhi Choubey, 25, reportedly parked their car by the roadside. The policeman told them that they could do so only after the CM8217;s cavalcade passed through. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was on his way to his residence after attending a function.

The two got into an argument, which reportedly led to the traffic policeman beating up the minister8217;s son. The policeman also allegedly misbehaved with the minister8217;s daughter-in-law who tried to intervene. Aviral8217;s father-in-law, S S Mishra, assistant commercial manager with the Eastern Central Railway, who was accompanying the couple, however, was unhurt.

DSP Amar Singh reached the spot. The 8220;errant8221; cop was taken to the Kotwali police station where a case of assault and molestation was filed against him.
