Rebel NTC leader Sudip Bandopadhyay, contesting from Calcutta North-West as an Independent, is getting the Congress8217; support. In return, he has had to give an undertaking to the Congress that he will not join or support the NDA if he gets elected.

8216;8216;I sought the Congress8217; support and I got it. I am sure to win with the Congress8217; support. And I have made it clear I will not join the NDA if I get elected,8217;8217; Bandopadhyay, who had only recently declared that he still regarded A.B. Vajpayee as his leader, said.

Bandopadhyay was addressing a press conference at the Congress office here which was also attended by West Bengal PCC president Pranab Mukherjee and Congress candidate against NTC president Mamata Banerjee, Nafisa Ali.
