Congress leaders, who have filed a complaint against Bollywood actor and BJP’s Bikaner candidate Dharmendra on the issue of his second marriage with actress and RS member Hema Malini, today submitted fresh evidence in the local court — a nikahnama — in support of their complaint.
Congress leaders K.K. Mishra and Akthar Beg submitted the evidence before first class Judicial Magistrate Narendra Jain, following which the court has fixed April 24 as the next date in the case.
‘‘The court has completed the hearing of the complainants in the matter and has also admitted the fresh evidence as nikahnama in the case,’’ advocate Shailendra Dwivedi, who is fighting the case on behalf of the Congress, said. The court will give its ruling in the matter on April 24.
Congress leaders have alleged that Dharmendra married Hema Malini by embracing Islam, without divorcing his first wife as per the Hindu Marriage Act and therefore, his nomination be cancelled as he has not given correct information in his nomination. The complainants also demanded for the termination of Hema Malini’s RS membership.
