
VADODARA, SEPT 12: ONGC Vadodara observed Communal Harmony Fortnight with patriotic reverence recently, with various programmes emphasising and reiterating the central theme.
A Kavi Gosthi and a Sadbhavna Gosthi were organised at the Regional Office. The meets were chaired by A K D Chowdhury, Group General Manager 8212; RM. A poster-painting competition was conducted at Oil and Natural Gas Commossion Kendriya Vidyalaya and Oil and Natural Gas Commossion, Baroda High School. Bhavin J Parmar, VIII C, Piyush G Verman, VIII C, and Amik Ojha, IX B, all of Baroda High School, bagged the prizes in the contest.
The Vadodara chapter of the Women8217;s Development Forum held a motivational talk by Flying Officer Nidhi Sharma and Flying Officer Soumya Ratha from the Harni Air Base.
While stressing the strong bonds of communal harmony in service life, they informed the gathering about the various requirements for joining the Indian Air Force in its different branches.
The highly appreciative audience subsequently interacted with the air force officers.
The Drilling and Cementing Section organised a talk on Anekta Me Ekta, Hind Ki Visheshta8217; to promote the Sadbhavana theme. K G Gupta, Group General Manager Pamp;A, presided over the talk. In the inaugural address, S L Arora, General Manager Drilling, reiterated that the pledge of Sadbhavana had to become a part of everyday life.
Multi-Disciplinary Field Familiarisation Training: It is one of the principal guidelines of ONGC to familiarise young Graduate Trainees with various disciplines in order to help them gain a holistic knowledge of the organisation.
Keeping this in view, Multi-Disciplinary Field Familiarisation training was organised for 64 GTs at Ankleshwar and Mehsana.
At Ankleshwar, 25 programmers and six industrial Engineers Were familiarised with Gandhar field, CTF-Ankleshwar, CPF-Gandhar and various activities of production and exploration. They were also given broad outlines of the other services like electro-logging, well stimulation, drilling and cementing. Classroom lectures were also delivered by experts on various subjects.The training was coordinated by T Vasudevan, Chief Manager Pamp;A and N C Baliyar Singh, Pamp;A Officer.
Similarly, at Ankleshwar, 33 Graduate Trainees of Instrumentation, Electronics, Transport and Material Management were imparted training on various technical disciplines of Oil and Natural Gas Commossionby senior and experienced ONGC executives.
Visits to various installations, work centres, drilling rigs, work over rigs were arranged and demonstrations were given to them by working personnel at sites. B K Prasad, SE mechanical was the course co-ordinator.
The entire training at Mehsana and Ankleshwar was organised upto the complete satisfaction level of the trainees, according to the feedback.
