The fashion world seems to be on a regression trip. Mickey amp; Donald, Tweety, 101 Dalmations, Smiley, Huey, Louie and Dewey and a myriad of other cartoon characters have taken the accessory world by storm. And Smiley is, undoubtedly, the hot favourite.

Butterfly clips, or Tic Tac clips are THE way to hold that unruly hair in place this summer. Priced between Rs 15 to Rs 45 a pair, these plastic clips come in several distinct, bright colours. There are strawberry and banana, Tweety and Kitty and smiling feet clips. Also available are white metal slides, that do just that 8211; slide over your hair, without tearing or damaging your crowning glory. Hair bands for Rs 25 in fluorescent yellows, oranges, lime greens, plain and printed are also quite popular.

And to adorn your fingers, you guessed right, comes the funny brigade again, in all its plastic glory. You can choose from an assortment of luminous green and pink flowers, a dalamation puppy, smileys, the ubiquitous heart and what-have-you for Rs 15 to 20 each. Plastic studs, Smiley again, in bright hues and silver coated Yin amp; Yang ear-rings, that will set you back by a reasonable Rs 20, are very in8217;.

Silver-coated chains, Rs 35 onwards with Reebok, Nike logos as lockets are very popular with the guys. Golden matt finish ball bead chains with abstract designs for lockets are also in demand.

And youngsters today go in for the Mix-n-Match look, claims Dilip Wadhwani of Diva Collections, whose shop stocks many of the en vogue accessories. Guess matching is boring, huh?

As for make-up, minimal is the way to be. Says Vasundhara Vaswani, Sunshine Beauty Centre, Clover Centre, 8220;No one goes in for foundations and creams in summers. Blush-on powders in subtle peach, beige and light browns are advisable, and that too only if you have to.8221; Smudge-proof eye pencils in blue and grey are in style. For the lips, light, natural, earth tones in matt are popular. Also blackish, maroonish shades are doing very well. Nail polishes in pale shades of blue, metallic grey and white are the current rage.
