An international conference on Changing face of emerging India and its impact on the new global order was organised by the commerce department of MCE Society8217;s Abeda Inamdar Senior college of Arts, Sciences and Commerce. The three day conference witnessed an intellectual discussion on the various aspects of the Indian economy and its impact on the global economy. Attended by around 300 delegates from across the world, thought provoking and informative presentations by learned speakers, characterised the seminar. Arun Nanda, executive director of Mahindra Group, who was the chief guest for the valedictory function, gave a presentation on the present scenario of the global economy and how India can convert its threats into opportunities for future growth. The conference was attended by many eminent industrialists while more than 130 research papers were presented. Vice-chancellor of Pune University, Narendra Jadhav also made his presence felt at the conference by giving a strong analysis of the past and present status of Indian economy and consequently its future prospects.

Amplify Mindware Department of Information Technology 038; Management BVU, emerged as the winner for the Faculty Internship Initiative introduced by National HRD Network Pune Chapter with different Business Houses. Amplify Mindware DITM students won the BEST PROJECT award at the recent NHRD meet of Pune Chapter. The project duration was for six weeks Amplify PGD IT/HR students Swapnil Singh and Ruchee Sharma with the guidance of Dilip Thosar, Professor-Human Resources at Amplify, worked on the project Evaluating Effectiveness of Training Programs based on L3 Kirkpatrick Model with Suzlon Energy Ltd.

Only by this the future for the Biotechnology departments will be dazzling,8221; said M K Bhan, the secretary of Indian Biotechnology Department. With the co-operation of Bharati Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya, Rajeev Gandhi Institute of Information Technology and Biotechnology and Maratha Chambers of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture, the discussion on the important concern- the Co ordination between the Biotechnology educational institutes and the business Institutions-the necessity of time, was held. Present on the dais were the chairman of the program and vice-chancellor of Bharati Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya Shivraj Kadam, Ashok Kolaskar, Institute8217;s Director D P Nerker, Anant Sardeshmukh of Maratha Chamber of Commerce were present. Speeches of various prominent personalities were included in the daylong programme.

Tech learning

Redefining education
Mahesh groups of industries recently invited Parag Shah, chairman, Foundation for Liberal and Management Education to talk on Liberal Education to inspire and expose the members of their group to this new concept of education. Speaking on the occasion Shah emphasised on the need of all round development of an individual which is vital for his/her contribution towards the society. He also talked about the various problems that plague the country8217;s education system. Liberal education talks about the freedom to explore, identify and then choose the right career path.

Excellence aimed
Nuturing budding entrepreneurs of the institution, the E2 club of IIPM Pune organised an entrepreneurship summit titled Prayas- an endeavour to ideas. The summit focused on the scope of being an entrepreneur and development of entrepreneurial skills. Attended by around 80 students of the institution, the summit saw an active participation by top level speakers from the corporate and academic world. The speakers gave enlightening presentations which were quite inspiring for the MBA students.
