No matter how irrelevant, the Enforcement Wing of the Municipal Corporation during its encroachment drives tends to pick up an assortment of stuff. From watercoolers to torn posters and utensils, the list is endless. Recently, the staff picked up three plastic chairs from outside a shop in the motor market. The roadside vendors, have meanwhile become smarter as they have started keeping torn posters or clothes outside for easy disposal. To prove their obedience, these vendors waste no second in handing over these cast offs to the MC staff. A penny saved is a penny earned !

Ever since Haryana came into existence in 1966, there had been only one female bureaucrat heading the department. Satwanti Ahlawat was appointed for the post of General Manager, Haryana Roadways, Chandigarh. Not surprisingly, she held the additional charge as General Manager in the 90s only for about three months.

Moreover, in addition to the mini cheese samosas, for lunch, one can order chicken masala from the main canteen. Who cares for the expenses, its all courtesy Punjab government.
