Here8217;s another creative display by budding artists. The Concern India Foundation8217;s latest venture is a painting competition open to professionals, students and amateurs, with a special category for children. But with a difference. All, except the professional category, have to paint in shades of blue and white. The use of other colours is permitted to obtain different shades of blue and white. The 8220;Colours of Concern8221; has already attracted more than 2,000 entries in three categories. And the selected entries will be exhibited at the Bal Gandharva Kala Dalan on August 20 to 22, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by the Foundation8217;s Executive Director, Kavita Shah at 4 p.m. on the first day. The prizes will be given away by the Venkateshwara Group, to be held on the last day, 4 p.m. And funds raised will go to children and women welfare programmes.

When Urshita Gautam daughter of Colletor Vijay Kumar Gautam had a stomach ache in school on Wednesday, her mother was summoned to collect her. Little did she know that she would then be the one who gave Hazare his first drink. Her dad was on his way to Alandi and asked her to come along casually. When hazare announced that he would take his drink from Urshita she was obviously thrilled. She told her mother about the incident and says Mom, 8220;Urshita came home and told me everything. She was very happy the whole of yesterday.8221; For a Std. III kid, that8217;s quite something.

Acting on issues
Space is quite a problem not just in a crowded city like Mumbai but even in amche Pune. This is one of the issues handled in the play, Barefoot in Mumbai. Directed by Hosi Vasunia, the play is an adaptation of Neil Simon8217;s Barefoot in the Park. The story revolves around a newly married couple who have to balance their careers, marriage and extended families. It also looks at compatibility issue amongst couples besides the roof over their heads. It will be staged on August 28 and 29 at the Nehru Memorial Hall.
