CHENNAI, May 14: A timely help by the volunteers of Child Line, the 24 hour emergency 1098 phone service for children introduced by the Indian Council for Child Welfare ICCW and the Social Defence department, rescued the 12-year old Addavi Reddy of Manikeshwarnagar, near Hyderabad, from the clutches of a man who forced him to commit petty thefts. The boy who ran away from home was lured by a 8216;bhai8217; at a railway station near his home, who promised him a job which would fetch him Rs 30 per day. On reaching Chennai, Reddy found he was in wrong hands as he and three other boys were under the custody of the 8216;bhai8217; who forced them to commit thefts.
