In a move to bring madarsa students into mainstream education, the Chandigarh administration has decided to give these students a one-time option of taking admission in government schools. The students won8217;t be required to show their last year8217;s marksheet while seeking admission in government schools.

The administration, after inspecting madarsas in Manimajra and Bapu Dham, has decided to shift its students to government school in Sector 26.

UT Deputy Commissioner R K Rao and Municipal Commissioner P S Aujla inspected the madarsa in Manimajra. In their report, the two officials said the madarsa building was not habitable. The report also suggested immediate corrective measures.
