NASHIK, JULY 8: The Maharashtra University of Health Sciences MUHS today declared the final merit list of the CET with changes in the merit positions of 900 students. The list had been delayed by a day due to power failure and computer breakdown and admissions to medical courses would begin on July 11 as scheduled.

The MUHS had declared its first meritlist on June 28 and invited applications for revaluation from students dissatisfied with the results. Accordingly, the MUHS received 3,321 applications, including 2,271 for revaluation of marks and 350 for inclusion in special categories for the reservation quota. After verification, the merit position of those who gained more marks was changed.

The final merit list containing changed merit position of 900 students was declared today. The Vice-Chancellor, MUHS, Dr Dayanand Dongaonkar said that the merit position of others would not change as the altered merit list numbers would be in decimals, like 10.1, 10.2 etc.

The admission process for the first year courses in all medical faculties would begin in Nashik on July 11 in the campus of the Nashik District Maratha Vidhya Prasarak Samaj8217;s KTHM College along Gangapur Road. The MUHS has planned to conduct interviews of 9,200 students from July 11 to 25 as per the merit list. For the remaining students, the dates would be notified later.

The CET had been conducted on May 23. In all 39,329 students had appeared for the CET and the MUHS had declared the first merit list of 10,332 students on June 28. There are 10,100 seats available in medical institutions affiliated to the MUHS. These include 3,055 seats MBBS seats 2005 in rest of Maharashtra, 450 in Marathwada and 600 in Vidarbha and 800 BDS seats 420 in rest of Maharashtra, 90 in Marathwada and 290 in Vidarbha.
