CBI summons 145;tainted146; cops for questioning

The CBI has finally called personnel from the Kolkata Police for interrogation regarding Rizwanur Rehman8217;s death. The CBI has served notices to a number of officers, including the office in-charge and a sub-inspector of Karaya police station, Assistant Commissioner Sukanti Chakraborty and SI Krishnendu Das, who are scheduled to meet investigating sleuths next week.

CBI joint director Arun Kumar and DIG of CBI8217;s Special Crime Branch Satish Golcha will be present during the interrogation of the policemen. According to CBI sources, IPS officers Gyanwant Singh and Ajay Kumar, will also be interrogated.

8220;We are talking to everyone connected with the case,8221; said Arun Kumar.

Meanwhile, Alpana Jolly, a student of Rizwanur, on Sunday confirmed that she had received an SMS saying 8220;awaz uthana8221; from Rizwanur minutes before his death. She, however, deleted it failing to understand its meaning.
