Canara Bank plans 17 more foreign branches

Canara Bank will seek the Reserve Bank of India8217;s permission to open 17 more overseas branches.

Canara Bank will seek the Reserve Bank of India8217;s RBI permission to open 17 more overseas branches. 8220;We have got licences from the RBI for five overseas branches and are asking for 17 more,8221; Canara Bank chairman and managing director M B N Rao said here on Saturday.

He added that the country8217;s largest nationalised bank is continuing to scout for acquisitions in the northern and western parts of the country.
