
MUMBAI, July 15: Despite a 24 per cent jump in sales the net profit of Cadbury India rose marginally to Rs 5.97 crore in the second quarter ended June 20, 1999 as against Rs 5.08 crore in the corresponding period last year.
The net sales during the period increased 23.75 per cent to Rs 94.45 crore from Rs 76.32 crore last year. Total expenditure of Rs 83.07 crore is higher as compared to Rs 64.62 crore in the previous year largely on the back of the Bournvita relaunch initiative The company said that the quarter under consideration covers the summer season which is a lean period.
