BUTA members submit memo

VADODARA, Aug 18: The members of the Baroda University Teachers Association BUTA took out a rally on Tuesday from the Faculty of Performing Arts to the collectorate and submitted a memorandum to the district collector.

The memorandum pointed out the discrepancies in their pay-scales, which was revised only according to the guidelines of the Rastogi Commission and not the University Grants Commission, claimed General Secretary of BUTA Nikhil Desai.

The memorandum had been submitted to the collector to make him aware of the difficulties being faced by the teachers of the universities in various parts of the country, he added. Even those who did take part in the strike all these days also participated in the rally, he said, adding that teachers of the Polytechnic college and the administrative staff also joined the rally. BUTA members would meet at the Faculty of Fine Arts on Wednesday to decide about further action, he added.
