BSNL has re-jigged pulse durations for calls made within and outside its network. Starting May 25, basic calls (including WLL) within Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, UP (East), UP (West) and Uttaranchal will be treated as calls within a circle.

Calls from basic to cellular networks in the same state will be charged under a pulse rate of 45 and calls to other networks at 60 seconds.

However, in Maharashtra, calls to all other cellular networks including MTNL in Mumbai shall be charged under a 45 second pulse rate.

For basic-to-basic calls within 50 km, the pulse duartion is being placed at 180 seconds in Maharastra, while for a wireless in local loop (WLL) call, the duration will be 90 seconds. For distances beyond 50 km, the pulse duration for basic-to-basic and WLL calls is 60 seconds.
