PATIALA, Oct 2: The Bahujan Samaj Morcha has decided to postpone its proposed Bahujan Chetna rally to be organised here on October 8. The rally will now be held on November 14, district convenor of the Morcha, Paramjit Singh Kainth said here today.
Kainth, while talking to ENS, said that the rally was postponed because of recent rain and floods.He appealed to the state government to reconsider its decision to provide free electricity and water to the agricultural sector in the state because the decision had already created a rift between the different categories of the society in the recent past.
Kainth also demanded that the state government take up measures to curb the growing menace of corruption in the state.
The morcha has appealed to the Union government to give proper representation to the Scheduled Class community from North India in the Union cabinet in the near future because of the resentment prevailing among the community against the callous attitude of the Union government.
