AKOLA, April 1: Bank Sports Board BSB and Tamil Nadu won the men8217;s and women8217;s titles respectively in the 27th Senior National Carrom Championship being played here at Hotel Indraprasth Towers yesterday.
Narsimhan of All India Electricity Sports Control Board AIESCB stole the limelight on the third day of the tournament as he shocked Arjuna award winner Maria Irudayam 25-15, 15-6. His upset victory saw AIESCB finishing runner-up in the men8217;s event.
Nagsen Etambe, Mahendra Tambe and Arokyaraj formed the BSB team, while Narsimhan, J Valentine and Pomedkar completed the AIESCB line-up.
In the women8217;s section, Tamil Nadu team comprising, R Sharmila, D Swarnalata and A Punarani won the title, while Maharashtra finished runner-up.
