Boys save two from getting electrocuted

THRISSUR, MAY 28: A housewife and her nine-year-old daughter were saved by two 16-year-olds from being electrocuted to death at Kunnamkulam near here on Thursday.

The incident occurred when the hook with which the mother was plucking fruit from a tree accidentally touched a live wire and the daughter, to save her mother, caught her and got herself trapped, police said.

The two boys, Karnan and Reji, who were among the crowd which had gathered at the spot, picked up a tree branch severed the link of the hook with the live wire, thereby saving the mother and daughter from being electrocuted.
