NEW DELHI, DEC 5: Parliament was today rocked by an Opposition demand for resignation of Home Minister L K Advani and two other Union Ministers over the Babri Masjid issue leading to adjournment of both Houses for the day without transacting any legislative business.

Soon after the Question Hour, both Houses, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, were thrown into turmoil as determined Congress members joined by the Left Front, Samajwadi Party, AIADMK and other opposition parties sought resignation of Advani, Human Resource Development Minister Murli Manohar Joshi and Sports Minister Uma Bharti, chargesheeted by CBI in the Babri Masjid demolition case.

While Congress and Samajwadi party members rushed to the well of the Lok Sabha shouting slogans quot;We want resignationquot;, in the Rajya Sabha, Congress members led by Suresh Pachouri said that the three Ministers had no quot;moral rightquot; to continue in office as they had been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Proceedings in the Lok Sabha was stalled for the second day today while Rajya Sabha was adjourned yesterday after condoling the death of a sitting member from Allahabad Chunni Lal.

In the Upper House, ruling NDA members retaliated by counter shouting slogans which were inaudible in the din.

The two Houses were adjourned after about five minutes of noisy scenes by Speaker G M C Balayogi and Chairman Krishan Kant after their repeated pleas for order went unheeded.
