WHILE on Jism, one thing nobody can deny is that Bipasha Basu has never looked better than now. The fact that she spends most of her screen-time in little or no clothes is obviously one of the main reasons the crowds are going in for repeats. Take a trip to the cinema and you8217;ll notice that from the very moment she makes her entry in the film 8212; emerging out of the sea in a see-through white dress 8212; she has the viewers hooked. And here8217;s a revelation since we8217;re mentioning her opening scene anyway: Mahesh Bhatt created that nymphet-out-of-the-water sequence as a tribute to Ursula Andress8217; opening scene in the Bond flick, Dr No. The filmmaker, apparently, had been so overwhelmed by that classic scene, that he decided to recreate it for Jism.

Three8217;s Company

SO what if over a dozen love triangles have bombed recently, it doesn8217;t look like the trend is ever going to go out of fashion. The latest three8217;s-company flick comes from Boney Kapoor and Sridevi who8217;re producing one with Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Akshay Kumar. Dharmesh Darshan, creator of such soggy romances as Raja Hindustani, Mela, Dhadkan and Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya, will direct the mush-fest in which Anil Kapoor will play a widower, we hear. Also making appearances in the film will be Manoj Bajpai and Sushmita Sen 8212; not opposite each other, we hope; she deserves better!

Work is Pooja

EVEN as her latest production, Jism, continues to draw mixed responses, Pooja Bhatt is getting ready to move on professionally. The Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin girl says she8217;s mostly done with acting, but insists that she8217;ll make exceptions in the case of films or roles that might excite her. That, she explains, was what prompted her to make a cameo in Rahul Bose8217;s Everybody Says I8217;m Fine, and looks like that8217;s what has tempted her to consider J P Dutta8217;s offer to make a small appearance in his star-studded LOC. Having worked with the filmmaker on Border, Pooja says she enjoys his approach to the job. So more than likely, she8217;ll step into a teensy-weensy bit role opposite Sanjay Dutt. On the filmmaking front, she says she8217;s seriously thinking about directing a film shortly. And there8217;s another script her colleagues think she must produce and star in herself.

SMS Sabotage

IT8217;S happening all over again. There was so much ill-will against the makers of Kaante that SMS messages revealing the identity of the undercover cop in the film Lucky Ali had been doing the rounds months before the film8217;s release. Similar SMS messages revealing the identity of the killer in Kucch To Hai have begun floating around recently, perhaps as an indication of producer Ekta Kapoor8217;s 8216;8216;popularity8217;8217; in Bollywood. The messages say Rishi Kapoor is the secret bad guy in this desi version of I Know What You Did Last Summer. Of course we can verify the authenticity of the rumours only when we8217;re allowed to a sneak preview of the film.
