EUGENE, June 14: One day before US President Bill Clinton’s plane was scheduled to land at an airport in Eugene, Oregon, local police found two “possible explosive devices” there, authorities said today.

The Eugene Police Department received information yesterday afternoon about the devices at the airport, spokesman Jan Power said in a statement.

“Two devices were located just before 3 pm (local time),” she said. “At that time, nearby building were evacuated until two devices were rendered safe.” Power said police investigating the incident later searched a locker at a Greyhound bus depot, but found nothing related to the devices. Eugene police declined to release any further information about the incident, citing an ongoing Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) investigation. An FBI spokeswoman in Washington had no immediate comment.
