
Utsav Bhasin, son of a Haryana-based industrialist, who is accused of killing a person while driving his BMW car recently, was on Sunday sent to judicial custody till Oct 10 by a Delhi court.
Metropolitan Magistrate Naresh Kumar ordered that Bhasin be sent to jail for 13-days after Delhi police submitted that they did not want to interrogate him further in the case.
Bhasin 19 was allegedly at the wheels when his BMW car hit two men on a motorcycle around 2:30 am on September 11 near Moolchand flyover in South Delhi here.
Bhasin on Sunday, refused to undergo the test identification parade, a move which could go against him during the trial.
Earlier, the Delhi High court had dismissed Bhasin8217;s plea seeking anticipatory bail in the case saying the accused had ran away from the spot and did not take the victims to the hospital after the accident.
Bhasin, who was earlier granted bail at Lajpat Nagar Police station, was facing re-arrest after the police invoked stringent penal provision of Section 304 culpable homicide not amounting to murder of the IPC, which prescribes life imprisonment as maximum sentence.
Earlier Bhasin, son of industrialist R K Bhasin from Bahadurgarh, Haryana, was asked by the High Court not to leave the country without its prior permission.
