MUMBAI, July 11: Gulf Lubricants Bengal Mumbai Football Club (BMFC) escaped to a 1-0 win against Central Bank in a Gulf Lubricant WIFA Super League football match at the Cooperage today.

The solitary goal was scored by Abhay Kumar, off a penalty, just two minutes before the final whistle. Kasif Jamal sent a corner cross and striker Adil Ansari positioned himself to take strike. But Central bank defender Mohammed Khan pushed the BMFC striker to force referee Sambhu Hegde point to the spot. Kumar pushed the ball to the right of goalkeeper Jerome Ghanekar.

Bombay Muslims drew first division match 0-0 against GMSC. In a second division match, Madanpura SC beat Ryan International. Welfar D’Souza scored the solitary goal.

In another second Division match, Mahatma SC got past Sundar Nagar 5-1. Bhupender Rana scored three goals while Srinath Puthran and Vicky D’Mello scored a goal each. Vipul Mistry scored the consolatory goal for Sunder Nagar.

Amboli held

Rhino Sports Club held Village Amboli 1-1 ina MDFA organised senior Division Harwood League match here at the St Xavier ground, Parel.

Robin Almeida put Amboli ahead in the 15th minute but three minutes later Satyavan Sawant equalised for Rhino Sports Club.

In a first Division match, MLWB (Worli) got past MLWB (Goregaon) 2-0. Sumanand Biranda and Vivek Varnekar scored a goal each for Worli team.

In a Division III match, Bosco Strikers beat Worli Sports Club 2-1. Freddie Ignatius and Valenky Rodrigues scored a goal each for the winners while Ashis Rodrigues scored for Worli Sports Club.
