It now turns out that coach Greg Chappell may have to be blamed for India8217;s 1-3 series loss to the West Indies. A casual remark by Chappell after India won the first game in Jamaica 8212; 8216;8216;West Indies have forgotten how to win8217;8217; 8212; acted as a spur for the Caribbean cricketers to stage a comeback, revealed skipper Brian Lara.

8220;It was a very sly remark,8221; said Lara. 8220;We in the past have put ourselves in positions to win matches, but we faltered on those occasions. After the first match of the series, the guys took notice of that statement and we turned the tables. We won the series and there8217;s still another match left.8221;

The captain did agree though that Chappell was not way off the mark. 8220;It is one of our downfalls, it is one of our problems. We have had Test matches against Australia, against England, where we lost those crucial moments and have been backpedaling every time. He might be right but he hasn8217;t been right in the last week or so. It8217;s nice for the guys to prove him wrong,8221; said Lara.
