BJP criticises Cong

AHMEDABAD, April 19: In a rather dispirited attack on the Congress for dislodging the BJP-led government at the Centre, the BJP State unit has criticised GPCC president C D Patel and former Chief Minister Chhabildas Mehta for trying to praise the Congress8217; feat in bringing down the Union government.

In a statement today, BJP State unit vice-president Bhupendrasinh Solanki and general secretary Gordhanbhai Zadaphia said that common man was hurt at the way the Vajpayee-led government was dislodged. But this is not the first time the Congress had brought down governments and pushed the country into expensive elections, the statement said. Besides, they forecast that the BJP would capture all the 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat in the event of mid-term elections. Again lambasting the Congress, the statement said that the people were enraged with the Congress for trying to weaken the nation.
