Vatsa tops NSE complaint list

MUMBAI: Vatsa Corporation with 25 complaints topped the list of corporates with maximum number of complaints pending against them for more than two months as on October 31, 1998, at the National Stock Exchange (NSE). Motorol (I) Ltd had 15 complaints followed by Videocon International Ltd with 11, NEPC India and Xedd Telecom ltd with seven each, Grapco Industries and Padmini Polymers with six each, Rinki Petrochemicals and Industries limited with five, Reliance Capital with four and Kothari Industrial Corporation with three complaints, the NSE release stated.

Central Bank first half profit up

MUMBAI: The operating profit of Central bank of India has gone up to Rs 132.88 crore in the first six months of current fiscal as compared to Rs 102.15 crore recorded in the same period of last year. Aggregate deposits of the bank recorded an increase of 18.94% from Rs 24,107 crore as on September last year to Rs 28,673 crore this year.New software by TivoliSystems

MUMBAI: Tivoli Systems, an IBM company, has come out with a product specifically designed to manage networks of small businesses. This is the first such attempt by the company which normally competes in the large enterprise space. Called IT Director, the software can handle software distribution, invetory management, monitoring, remote control and network management.

Silver, gold up

MUMBAI: Silver prices recovered sharply by Rs 90 per kg and gold closed with increased strength on the bullion market Friday. Higher overseas advices and reduced arrivals caused the sharp rise in the precious metals’ prices.Ready silver .999 fineness started firm and ralllied further to close at Rs 7545, showing a sharp rise of Rs 95 over the last close of Rs 7450.

Raw silver .916 fineness jumped up by Rs 100 to Rs 7435 from Rs 7335 and tenderable silver rose to Rs 7550 from the previous close of Rs 7455.Standard gold hardened further by Rs 35 to end at Rs 4285. 22-carat gold was nominally quoted higherat Rs 3965 from Rs 3930 and ten-tola gold bar of .999 purity rallied by Rs 500 to end at Rs 50,300 from rs 49,800.
