VADODARA, June 21: Members of the Railway Passenger Forum have demanded that the Navjeevan Express be given a one-minute halt at Bharuch.

Talking to Express Newsline, president of the forum V C Shah said, 8220;At present the train passes by Bharuch at 5 p.m., which is appropriate for a halt for daily commuters from Bharuch to Ahmedabad.8221;

Shah pointed out that as Navjeevan was an ordinary Express train, the Railway Ministry would have no difficulty in accepting their demand.He said only one-minute halt was needed. Shah said they were also demanding introducing an Intercity Express Memu between Surat and Vadodara or Ankleshwar to Vadodara to reduce the rush in the 9-down Memu.

He said at present 32 coaches of the Memu train were lying unused in the Vadodara division. Also there were 200 rolling stocks, which were used during the summer vacation to run various holiday special trains, lying spare, he added.
