Tempestuous West Indies fast bowler Tino Best has been told to cut out bowling beamers if he hopes to prolong his international career.

The warning is said to have been issued unofficially by ICC match referee Mike Procter. According to sources close to Procter, Best and the team have been placed on a ‘final warning’.

‘‘Bowl another beamer and you’ll be sent back home with a six-match ban,’’ is the message delivered to the West Indies management last night.

It has also been suggested that Best remodel his action and to stop saying that the ‘ball slipped’ as he did on Monday when was taken out of the attack for bowling the third beamer at a Sri Lankan batsman.
