Farah Khan hires security guards for her entire block

Filmmaker Farah Khan, 43, is all up for fighting for causes these days. After the recent terror attacks in Mumbai she has turned into a crusader of sorts taking matters into her own hands.

She has hired a private security agency to provide protection for the 22 societies in the seven-block radius around her house. “After seeing the carnage on TV, I was shocked to know that there wasn’t any security for my building. Then I realised how unequipped I was to save my family. It is nice to be idealistic for a change but we cannot rely on the government to provide us security any more,” she says.

Khan argues that rather than voicing her anger, she believes in constructively channelising it to be better prepared. She also intends on requesting the contractor to install lights on the beach front in front of her house.

“Each Sunday we have asked a doctor to come and educate us about basic life-saving skills. If we forget now then we will never be able to take action,” says Khan.

On the career front, Khan feels at ease judging reality TV shows as they leave her with additional time on her hands. “In TV, I have to work once a week and can spend time with my triplets,” says Khan, who will be seen

a in a cameo appearance as herself in Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai directed by Milap Zaveri, which releases sometime next year.
