Board of Control for Cricket in India BCCI president Sharad Pawar today came out in support of commercial endorsements by players.

8220;What is wrong if players do advertisements? After all, they earn only while they are in the limelight. They do not make advertisements all the time but only when cricket is not on,8221; Pawar said.

He said team India8217;s defeat was not a debacle. 8220;It8217;s a game and sometimes you win and at times you lose,8221; he said.

He blamed the electronic media for the angry reactions of cricket fans. 8220;The World Cup was much hyped. Images of havan being done for victory of team India were constantly on the television. This built pressure on the players. Rahul Dravid has told me that the team was under tension because too much was being expected from them,8221; he said

Pawar analysis of the defeat will take place at the BCCI meeting on April 6 and 7. 8220;On April 6 morning, the team captain and manager will submit their reports. In the afternoon session, the BCCI will hear views of former Test cricket team captains. On April 7, collective thinking will be done and course of action will be decided,8221; he said.

8220;Most of the players come from middle class background and cannot afford good quality training either in India or abroad. The expenses will be met by the BCCI,8221; he said.
