
CHANDIGARH, Nov 22: O P Jindal, former MP and a founder member of the Haryana Vikas Party HVP, said in a statement today: 8220;The Chief Minister is casteist and promotes nepotism8221;.
Jindal who resigned yesterday from the the primary membership of the party alleged that the Chief Minister even stopped the meager aid to the Maharaja Agrasen Medical College and Hospital situated at Agroha while previous governments used to give about Rs 5 crore in projects worth Rs 30 crore.
He resigned in protest against what he called the double-faced politics and misrule of Bansi Lal, who is also the party president.
Announcing his decision to quit the party, Jindal, a leading industrialist, accused Bansi Lal of not fulfilling the promises made to the people at the time the party was formed in 1991.
He said he would finalise his course of action after consulting members of his community, minorities and other sections, including his supporters.
Rajiv Jain, HVP general secretary, condemned Jindal for leaving the party. He said his allegations were false and baseless. He alleged that Jindal had never raised people-related issues in the Parliament and had failed to meet the expectations of the residents of Hisar, his constituency.
