MUMBAI, OCT 2: Sales of the two- and three-wheeler major Bajaj Auto, including completely knocked down sets supplied to an affiliate firm, fell five per cent in September year-on-year, the company said. Sales dropped to 116,000 units from 122,000 in the same month a year ago, according to data released on the company's website bajajauto.com. Sales in August had risen 10 per cent year-on-year. The company said sales during April to September were down 8 per cent at 6,31,000 units against 6,83,000.Production in September fell 7 per cent to 107,000 units from 115,000 in the same month last year, while output for the April to September period was down 1% at 665,000 from 672,000, the company said. The sales and production data included CKD kits supplied to Maharashtra Scooters, which is 24 per cent owned by Bajaj Auto. Excluding the CKD sets but including Maharashtra Scooters'completely built units, sales in September were down 7 per cent at 115,000 units from 123,000, a year ago. Maharashtra Scootersassembles scooters from the CKD sets which are then marketed by Bajaj Auto under its brand name.On the other hand, HMIL's cumulative sales for Santro stood at 49,497 units in September. Daewoo's cumulative sales for its all category of cars 62,000 units. Hindustan Motors also stated that sales of its luxury car, Lancer, stood at 1001 units in September. However, the company has not given any comparative figure. Meanwhile, MUL exported 1733 units in September, while Daewoo exported 50 cars in August.
