Bachchan kin left out

Besides some famous names from Bollywood, close relatives of the Bachchan family in their native Babu Patti village here have failed to make it to the guest list of the April 20 wedding.

Amitabh Bachchan8217;s uncle Babu Sharda Prasad Srivastav and the family of his aunt Munmun have given up hope of being invited. Srivastav, a retired college principal, was hoping to get an invite as Jaya Bachchan, during her visit here in March last year, had promised to this effect.

Recalling their close association with Harivanshrai Bachchan, members of both families said they had been in touch with the noted poet till he was alive. Though feeling a little let down at not being invited, they were happy about the big event.

They even felt the two should have obtained the blessings of the Kul Devi in Babu Patti.
