KOZHIKODE, NOV 23: The one-day South Zone match between Hyderabad and Kerala was marred by slogan shouting fans of former India captain Mohammed Azharuddin, demanding his inclusion in the Indian team.

A group of Azhar supporters surged into the ground, catching the few police personnel unaware.

The incident occurred when Azharuddin got to his 50 during the course of the Hyderabad innings. Play resumed after about 20 minutes. But there was another stoppage when Azhar got out at 91. The Kerala innings resumed after ten minutes, after the umpires set a revised target for the hosts (199 in 44 overs). Azharuddin did not take the field when the Kerala innings began.

Brief scores: Hyderabad 205-8 in 47 overs (Azharuddin 91) vs Kerala 141 in 35.4 overs.
