LAHORE, NOV 5: Australia moved closer to a place in the final of the 20th Champions Trophy men8217;s hockey tournament today with a 3-1 victory over Spain while South Korea held Germany to a 3-3 draw.

Australia scored through Vivian Taylor, Scot Webster and skipper Jay Stacy while Xavier Arnau got Spain8217;s consolation.

Australia took the lead in the 12th minute when Taylor smashed home the first penalty corner. Spanish goalie Ramon Jefresa had stopped two tries from Stacy and Adams Commens but he was down when Taylor8217;s hit beat him.

Australia added a second in the 30th minute when Webster proded the ball in the net. Two minutes later Spain pulled one back when Arnau scored off a penalty corner. Stacy scored Australia8217;s third goal in the 48th minute when he took a fine pass from Daniel Sproule and scored with a first time.

Kim Song-Tae got his first goal after four minutes but Gemmrig equalised in the eighth Christian Kurtz put Germany ahead in the 30th minute but on the stroke of half time Kim Jeong Chulequalised from a free ball in the circle. Korea went 3-2 ahead in the 49th minute when Kim Song-Tae pushed in a difficult shot. But Gemmrig equalised for Germany.
