TIRUCHIRAPALI, DECEMBER 28: Sixth judicial magistrate Muthusamy today directed the CB-CID police to arrest four people, including former AIADMK MLA Manickam, who had failed to appear in the court in connection with the case relating to the attack on former Union Minister P Chidambaram and produce them before the court on January three next.
The magistrate had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against them yesterday. When the case came up today, the CB-CID police submitted that they were still on the look-out for them.
It may be recalled that Chidambaram was attacked outside the airport here on August 16, 1991 by a group of AIADMK workers during a demonstration. Charges had been framed against 64 AIADMK workers, including former MLAs T Rathinavelu, S Arokiasamy, G R Mala and N R Sivapathy and former MP from Perambalur P Rajarathinam.
