Construction and infrastructure firm Atlanta today surged 28 per cent over its issue price in its debut trade on the stock exchanges, while two other new listings, Kew Industries and Deep Industries failed to sustain early gains and closed below their offer prices.

All three stocks had debuted on a strong note earlier today, attracting a premium of 18-40 per cent over their issue prices. All three companies had hit the capital market earlier this month with their initial public offers, which were oversubscribed.

Atlanta closed at Rs 192.30, after hitting an intraday high of Rs 209.50. It had priced its IPO at the upper end of price band of Rs 150, after the issue was oversubscribed by 10 times. It had entered the market with an IPO of 1.63 crore shares of Rs 10 each.

Auto component manufacturer Kew Industries ended below its issue price at Rs 23.60 on its debut, down 22.33 per cent from the offer price of Rs 30, after touching an intra day high of Rs 36.

Another firm which closed below its issue price today was Deep Industries falling nearly 22 per cent to Rs 27.90 from its issue price of Rs 36.
