FEROZEPORE, Feb 7: An exhaustive three-day symposium delving into the myriad complexities of fighting in a futuristic battlefield with its attendant technological and devastating aspects was conducted at Jalandhar under Lt Gen Kamal Davar, Vajra Corps commander. The entire proceedings were attended by Lt Gen H.B. Kala, GoC-in-chief Western Command.Eminent strategists and luminaries in the field of defence analysis including K. Subrahmanayam, convener of the recently constituted National Security Advisory Boardspokeon the occasion of the Army staff, Lt. Gen Khujaria and Lt Gen Nambiar, Brigadier Sukhjit Singh and Brigadier Nair, expostulated their views and debated the issues with service officers during the seminar.

Current concepts were pitted against emerging realities in the Indian subcontinent and refined to be further tested before being finally endorsed for practice.

The symposium helped broaden the horizons of the participants and synthesised the views of the academicians and professional soldiers.
