Armaan Ebrahim drove brilliantly in front of the huge F1 crowd in Shanghai to take the second spot in the final round of the Formula BMW Championship.

The Indian driver, who started the final race on pole with Narain Karthikeyan cheering him on, had a decent start as the lights went green. But Hamed al Fardan made a blinder of a start and took the lead from third place into corner 1.

Armaan fought back and went past Hamed on the outside going into turn 1 to regain the lead. But Michael Patrizi forged ahead as Armaan was busy keeping Hamed at bay. A few laps later Armaan shook off the threat from Hamed and started to hound Michael, but ran out of laps and the Indian driver had to settle for second place on the podium.

8216;8216;At the end of the day, it really did not make a difference because the racing was so good. It is always better to race wheel-to=wheel rather than having no competition. But getting onto the podium was important and I am happy that I finished the season on a high note,8217;8217; commented Armaan.

8216;8216;In the first race, I got the fastest lap and in the second race it is either Michael or myself who got the fastest lap. So the pace was good and as more races go under my belt, the better I will get,8217;8217; he added. Armaan now moves on to Portugal for Round 3 of the A1 GP.
