CALCUTTA, May 15: India8217;s former junior National golf champion Arjun Singh, playing in the 15-17 years category of the 19th Asia Pacific Junior Golf Championship in Manila, fired another round of good golf to move up to the joint second spot after the third round.

He returned a card of one over par 73, same as yesterday, to tally to 226. Arjun shares the second spot with Roy Sandiego of Philippines. Korea8217;s Chung Sung Han continued to lead in spite of a dismal seven over par 79. Han has a three-stroke lead over Arjun and Roy with one round to go.

Arjun, teeing off from the 10th hole with the Group A leaders, was two over after the front nine.

However, the Calcutta boy played remarkably in the back nine to return with one birdie and eight pars. Roy Sandiego also had a good day in the sultry conditions, ending with two over par 74.

Earlier in the second round on Wednesday, Arjun Singh played an excellent round to finish with one over par 73. He dropped a shot each on the third and the 17th holes, but had a birdie on the 18th.

He was placed joint fourth after the second round, nine strokes adrift off the leader Chung Sung Han. In the team event, Korea continue to lead with 669 with Taiwan following with 686. Hosts Philippines are placed third with 693.
