NEW DELHI, January 17: Howard Hipwood, a 7-goal player from the United Kingdom played a pivotal role in guiding Aravali Polo to a fascinating 9-4 1/2 victory over Oberoi Blues in the final of Sir Pratap Singh Cup (14 goals) polo tournament at Jaipur polo ground here tthis evening.Hipwood, giving long and lofted passes to his forwards scored five goals while Angad Kalaan and Nikhilendra Singh scored a brace each for the winners.The final match was played at a fast pace with the teams well-balanced and displaying their skill and stickwork. Aravali Polo conceded 1/2 goal on handicap to Oberoi Blues and scored a goal in the first chukker. They added three more in the second while Oberoi Blues netted two in the second chukker as the teams changed over for the halftime with 4-2 1 third chukker was a disastrous one for Oberoi Blues in which Aravali scored four goals against one by their opponents. In the final chukker, both teams scored a goal each.Dhrupal Godara (2), Vishal Singh and Basheer Ali scored for the losers.
