
PATIALA, Nov 22: Punjab Agricultural Officers Association, while opposing the state government8217;s move to appoint an IAS officer as director of the Agriculture Department, has appealed that a technocrat be appointed, so that departmental works are undertaken efficiently.
Dr Balwinder Singh Sohal, president of the association, in a statement here today, said that the association would repulse any such move. He said if the government failed to mend its way of working, then the association would launch an agitation on this issue in the future. He appealed to the government to change its anti-farmer stance.
